I think you mean the Kantronics UTU or "Universal Terminal Unit" I had one
in (I think) 1984. It did baudot and ascii rtty, amtor, and CW. It was
primarily for HF. I had a lot of fun with mine and there probably are
still a lot of them around.

I am very interested in getting started in amateur radio;
however, I do not understand alot of the terminalogy or some of the
equipment used in amateur radio. I do have a electrical tech. degree so
I do understand electronics and electronic theorys. Also I am a service
tech for a security alarm company. I would like to know how to get
started. I have seen some books for sale in Tucker Electronics and
Universal Radio which explain some of the equipment used. Could someone
please E-mail some info so that I can get the ball rolling.
I am also interested in scanners and I am in the process of
trying to decide on which unit I should purchase. I currently have a
bearcat 200xlt which is fine for my job or at the race track; however, it
is a limited unit even if I modify it. I like mtv7100 or the Icom R1.
Does anyone have any sugestions on these units or any other scanner.
Thanks for the info

I am loking for the schematichs diagram and the component view of
the 2 meter RTX named IC02E from ICOM.
It is a 1974 (I guess) 2 meters RTX.
The problem is in the receive section.
Basically it is ok but it need 10 microVolt at the antenna input
in order to receive something.
It should usually be 0.5 microVolt .
I checked this with a R.F. signal gererator.
I do not know if it has an RX preamplifier or what else that can went
bad.
I will really appreciate the schematics but even hits.
please email me at robertov@hqlab.ico.olivetti.com
If anybody is so kind to send me xerox of schematichs and eventualy
components view i can refund his/her money if he/she want to.
It will cost you one dollar for the letter
